Rotary Steps Monument
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County · Utah
The stone staircase climbing the west slope out of Memory Grove toward the Capitol is the gift of the Salt Lake Rotary Club—one of the civic groups whose fingerprints are all over this canyon. It stitches the war-memorial grove below to the seat of state government above, a short, steep climb that turns a walk through the park into a passage between two very different kinds of Utah ground. Rotary first built the steps in the park's early decades; they've been rebuilt since.
