Memorial Grove Park Dedication
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County · Utah
Memory Grove is Salt Lake City's tribute to its war dead — a long, green ravine running up City Creek Canyon just below the State Capitol, set aside after the First World War as a living memorial to Utahns lost in the nation's wars. This marker records its dedication. Over the decades the grove filled with monuments large and small, but the park itself is the memorial: a quiet, wooded retreat in the middle of the city where remembrance takes the form of shade, water, and walking paths rather than a single slab.
