Liberty Bell Tower (3) Markers
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County · Utah
Erected by NA
When the nation turned 200, England's Whitechapel Foundry—the shop that cast the original Liberty Bell back in 1752—offered to strike replicas for the states at cost. Salt Lake's arrived and was dedicated here in May 1979, the centerpiece of Memory Grove's Bicentennial additions. It hangs in its own small tower at the lower end of the park, a full-size copy of the most famous bell in the country. A war-memorial grove turned, for a moment, to celebrating the revolution that made the country worth defending.
