Ferry Plaza
Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County · Utah
Erected by NA
Westminster College stands on land the Ferrys gave. Colonel William Ferry and his wife Jeannette — he a Park City mining figure and its onetime mayor — donated the acreage for the college's campus, and one of its early buildings, Ferry Hall, carried their name from 1908 until it came down in 1987. This plaza, dedicated in their memory in 1990, marks where that building stood, now the site of the business school. It is a quieter monument than a hall, but it keeps the name of the family whose gift helped make the campus possible.
