The Borden House
Prairie Grove, Washington County · Arkansas
Erected 2011
Archibald Borden's house passed through other hands. The National Register nomination records that W. W. Blanton reportedly bought the house and land in 1881, that the Hall family was living there by 1888, and that a private owner, Mrs. J. W. Grissom, held it in 1976, when the roof was failing, chimneys had fallen and foundations were rotting. It was listed on the National Register on March 17, 1977, and now stands in the battlefield park. Sources date the rebuilt house between 1868 and 1871, and Borden's daughter Caldonia Ann said it closely resembled the original.
