Pioneer Log Cabin
Tooele City, Tooele County · Utah
Erected by NA, 1976
One cabin sheltered a long parade of Tooele lives. Zachariah Edwards began it on Main Street in 1855, among the first houses in town, and Andrew and Ann Gowans finished it as their home in 1856. Family after family followed under its roof — the Dollings came in 1869, and several others after them — before it turned to housing businesses instead of people. Barbara Bowen finally gave it to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, who moved it to this spot in 1973 and furnished it with the original handmade furniture it had always held.
