Friday's Station-Overland Pony Express Route in California

California registered a landmark at this crossing and never put a plaque on it. The only words cast for it stand a few hundred feet inside Nevada, in front of Harrah's: a plaque the casino set beside its bronze rider on April 4, 1963, and an undated steel post at the line itself. The plaque says the first rider passed here on April 4, 1860, bound for Friday's Station four-tenths of a mile northeast at Edgewood; the state's own text puts the station three-quarters of a mile east. The pin stays on the California side.
