Juab County Veterans Memorial
Nephi, Juab County · Utah
Erected, 2008
Dedicated in 2008, this Nephi memorial gathers Juab County's veterans across all the wars into a single place of honor — the more comprehensive companion to the town's older, gentler rose garden a short distance away. Juab is a small, rural county hugging the western desert, the kind of place whose contribution to the nation's wars is easy to overlook precisely because it is small. Memorials like this one exist partly to refuse that overlooking: to insist that the service of a few hundred from a quiet county still counts.
