Bear River City Church Steeple
Bear River, Box Elder County · Utah
Erected by NA, 1899
For nearly a hundred years, one brick building anchored Bear River City. Raised in 1899, it served the town as both church and schoolhouse and was added onto and reworked as the community grew. What time couldn't undo, weather did: a windstorm in the 1990s tore the roof away, and the old building was finally replaced in 1996. Its steeple is remembered here — the high point of a structure that gathered the town for worship and taught its children, generation after generation, on the delta where the Malad meets the Bear.
