Jenkins Ferry
Leola vic., Grant County · Arkansas
Erected 2015
The battleground began as a Masonic park in the early twentieth century. Act 10 of 1961 authorized the transfer of its landscaped forty acres to the Arkansas Publicity and Parks Commission, and the National Register listed Jenkins' Ferry Battleground on January 21, 1970. In 1994 the site became a contributing property in the Camden Expedition Sites National Historic Landmark District. The park sits in a bend of the Saline River and holds part of the old Little Rock and Camden road and the eastern end of the ferry crossing. A pavilion and picnic sites serve visitors today.
