Welcome to Arnaudville
Arnaudville, St. Martin County · Louisiana
Erected 2021
Before it was Arnaudville it was La Murière, and before that an Atakapa village stood on the spot. French settlers later called the meeting of Bayou Teche and Bayou Fuselier La Jonction, the junction, and many residents still do. The Arnaud family gave land for a church that still stands, the town took their name, and it was incorporated in 1870. It straddles two parishes, St. Martin and St. Landry. Since 2005 artists and musicians have been moving in, and the Saint Luc French Immersion and Cultural Campus works to keep Louisiana French spoken.
