The Hell Creek Formation
Rosebud County · Montana
The panel's sidebar compresses a road show. The National Parks Highway tour left Chicago on June 4, 1916, in Mitchell Six touring cars and spent thirty-three days on 3,100 miles of county roads, with Spokane's Frank Guilbert photographing the way. The party gave slide shows of the route as it went; Seattle's, on July 6, drew 3,000, the largest crowd of the trip, and the cars reached Tacoma the next day. Guilbert's photographs and lantern slides are held at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane.
