The Arcade Theatre and Miller Building, the Paramount and the Weber Building
Lake Charles, Calcasieu County · Louisiana
The Arcade's best trick was geography. KPLC reports that Texas restricted Sunday performances, so acts played Saturday in New Orleans and came on to Lake Charles, which put Houdini, the Barrymores and the St. Louis Symphony on Ryan Street. The National Register listed the Arcade on July 7, 1978. In 1985, while the theatre was being restored, a fire began on the stage and burned the whole building. The register removed the listing in 2016.
