Plymouth Trading Post

Plymouth, Amador County · California

The building changed sides. Joe Williams put it up in brick in 1857 as a trading post, selling to whoever came up the road. In 1873 the many small mines around Plymouth were consolidated into a single company, and this same building became that company's office and commissary, which made it the company store. It still stands on Main Street between Mill and Mineral, next to the bank. No state plaque has been located here.
