Pleasant Grove House Overland Pony Express Route in California

Erected by California State Park Commission, the Marguarite Parlor No. 12 Native Daughters of the Golden West, and the Central Overland Pony Express Association, 1960
This station lasted a year. The ponies changed here only between July 1860 and June 1861, which makes it one of the shortest-serving stops on the California division, and the plaque is careful to give both dates. What it was the rest of the time was a roadhouse, which is what most of these places were. The route ran west from here to Folsom and east through Rescue, Dry Creek Crossing and Missouri Flat to Placerville.

Pleasant Grove House This was the site of a popular roadhouse, where the ponies of the Central Overland Pony Express were changed during July 1, 1860 - June 30, 1861. From here the route of the pony riders continued westward to Folsom and eastward through Rescue, Dry Creek Crossing, and Missouri Flat to Placerville.
