Glenwood Cemetery
Crockett, Houston County · Texas
Erected 1972
Glenwood Cemetery is run by the Glenwood Cemetery Association of Crockett, a chartered nonprofit. County pages say the south sector opened soon after 1837 and the north sector in 1870, after the city and county reorganized following the Civil War. Two granite Centennial markers, for Judge Elijah Gossett and Major Isaac Watts Burton, went up in 1936. A 1987 count found 20 Texas Historical grave markers, 11 in the north sector and 9 in the south. They include Armistead Albert Aldrich, William Elbert Mayes, Augustus LeGory, David Alexander Nunn and Samuel Fisher Tenney.
