Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Diboll vicinity, Angelina County · Texas
Erected 1972
The church's roots reach to October 1871, when Lamberts Chapel issued a letter of dismissal to members joining a new congregation. Its first minutes are dated January 6, 1872, with J. S. Lambert as moderator. David Albritton served as the first clerk and, with William Clayton, the first deacon. A protracted meeting, probably under a brush arbor, followed in September 1872. The first church was built of logs and had a large fireplace. A committee chose a site near the present building in April 1894, and the third church was dedicated in August 1951.
