Doña Ana County Courthouse
Las Cruces, Doña Ana County · New Mexico
The building the panel dates to 1937 was the county's third courthouse in Las Cruces, which took the county seat from Mesilla in 1882. It was a Public Works Administration project, a three-story Pueblo-style building by Percy McGhee, an El Paso architect who also designed the Branigan Memorial Library in Las Cruces and the federal courthouse in El Paso. It replaced the 1883 courthouse, later demolished, and served until 2006, when the county courts moved into a new building that incorporates the 1927 Las Cruces Union High School.
