Lampasas, Lampasas County · Texas
Erected 1966
Walker went to the Unity Community country school near School Creek and graduated from Lampasas High School before studying journalism at the University of Texas. In New York he became city editor of the Herald Tribune in 1928, and his views on the job became required reading in some journalism schools. He married Mary Louise Sandefer in 1923.
