Aunt Libby's Dog Cemetary (sic)

Tooele County, Unincorporated, Tooele County · Utah
Erected by BLM

Horace Rockwell was the brother of Porter Rockwell, the gunman, but it is his wife who is remembered here — for something gentler. Libby kept the lonely stage stop at Lookout Pass, and having no children, she doted on a pack of little terriers she named for the famous: Jenny Lind, Josephine Bonaparte, Toby Tyler. When they died she buried them inside a stone wall beside three emigrant graves, two men and a child who never finished crossing the desert. The Rockwells left for California in 1890. Libby's dog cemetery is the only thing at Point Lookout still standing.
